In our most recent post, we discussed what personal branding is, and the importance of it. But one question remains: how to accomplish a successful personal branding? As we have pointed out in the latest post, personal branding is different from a casual use of social media. So, what goes into it? What does it take to have a good b

It all starts with a plan, like most things in the world of branding and marketing do. The idea behind a strategy for a personal brand should be very similar to that of a normal brand. Define a path for yourself that will allow you to show who you are and answer the question: who are you? You must decide what aspects of your life you want to share with your audience and what narrative you wish to create to reinforce your brand. Identify your values and your mission, and find a way to post and share about them that screams you. When you paint a compelling story that can be relatable or inspirational, your personal brand takes shape and attracts the right people to you. What do you want people to think of when they see you on their timeline? What is your story?

Think of yourself as a product you are trying to sell, without losing the humanity behind it, of course. Assign yourself a visual identity and tone of voice that suits your lifestyle and your vision, so that your followers can immediately recognize your brand. Your profile should reflect your passions and interests and guide the narrative you are sharing. This step, however, is not always necessary, depending on what type of brand you are building. Your personal brand goes beyond the confines of social media. It’s also how you present yourself in the real world and how others see you and think of you outside the platforms.

Consistency also plays a major part in this. Be coherent with your shared content; be true to it. If you really believe in what you share and have a real passion for it, then people will surely be interested and engage with you.

Remember also to try and reach the most amount of people you can throughout different platforms. Beyond just social media, having a personal website that reflects the brand you are building can be essential. It shows professionalism and commitment, while also ascertaining your credibility and raising your online footprint. The more places you put yourself into, the easier it is to find you. Study the best platforms to share your content while having in mind who you would want seeing and engaging with you.

Do not be afraid to tell your story. Share what you believe in with the world and let us know you. If you stay true to yourself, you are sure to flourish. A successful personal brand is one that reflects who you are. So, tell us, what is your brand? Who are you?
